The Third Monthly Exams are upon us, below is the exam schedule and test scope.

 

Please remind your child to go over vocabulary and reading stories listed in the test scope.

 

v  Listening Exam: Wednesday, 06/14

v  Oral Exam: Thursday/Friday, 06/15-16

v  Written Exam: Tuesday, 06/20

 

LISTENING & ORAL EXAMS:

o   Around One Cactus (pg. 512-527)

·         Listening Skills:

·         vocabulary words and RWN words for spellings of sounded words with /j/, /k/, /s/, consonant patterns wr, kn, gn, st, mb, RS vocabulary pages, prefix and suffix words

o   Oral Exams: Reading, answering questions

Dear parents, 

                      So for the last couple of weeks the weekly tests have been harder, which is due to work that is covered in the RWN currently, where the students have to dig deeper into stories and use other English language understandings which they know.  The weekly tests have more reading parts where students then have to answer questions where the answer isn't necessarily easily seen or given as in the same work as their RWN.

        The other reason for the tests to be a little harder is because this kind of work will be done a lot more in grade four, and I would like this kind of work not to be such a big shock to the students, and with only one month left of the semester, I would like the students to be well prepared.
